✦ What Sojourn Can Do

Sojourn is your family's all-in-one travel companion — built to help you plan before the trip, discover during it, and remember it long after you're home.

🗺️ How to Create a Trip

1. 1 Open Sojourn and tap the + button in the top right of the Home screen.
2. 2 Enter your trip name (e.g. "Family Trip to El Salvador") and destination.
3. 3 Choose an emoji icon that represents your trip.
4. 4 Set your start and end dates.
5. 5 Tap Add — your trip appears on the Home screen and is ready to plan.

📋 How to Plan Your Itinerary

Adding activities manually

1. 1 Tap your trip from the Home screen to open it.
2. 2 You'll land on the Plan tab. Tap a day in the strip at the top to select it.
3. 3 Tap the + button in the top right, or tap Add manually on the empty state screen.
4. 4 Enter a title, optional details, and pick a category (Food, Activity, Travel, Stay, Must-do, or Note).
5. 5 Optionally set a time for the activity and tap Add.

Using the AI Planner

1. 1 On the Plan tab, tap the ✦ AI button in the top right toolbar.
2. 2 Type a prompt like "Top 10 things to do in El Salvador" or tap one of the quick idea chips.
3. 3 The AI returns up to 8 suggestions with details and categories.
4. 4 Tap the + icon on any suggestion to add it directly to that day's timeline. Tap Add all to add everything at once.

Editing or completing an activity

1. 1 Tap any activity on the timeline to open the edit sheet.
2. 2 Update the title, details, category, or time and tap Save.
3. 3 To mark it done, tap the circle checkbox on the right side of the activity row.
4. 4 To delete it, open the edit sheet and tap Delete activity at the bottom.

📍 How to Use Discover

Adding a spot

1. 1 Open your trip and tap the Discover tab.
2. 2 Tap the + button or the dashed Add spot card in the grid.
3. 3 Tap the photo area to pick an image from your library.
4. 4 Enter a place name and a short caption about the experience.
5. 5 Toggle Use my current location on to auto-pin your GPS coordinates.
6. 6 Tap Add — the spot appears in your photo grid and on the map.

Sharing a spot to Instagram

1. 1 Tap a spot card to open the detail view.
2. 2 Tap the camera icon in the top right toolbar.
3. 3 If Instagram is installed, it opens Instagram Stories with your photo pre-loaded. If not, the iOS share sheet opens instead.

✍️ How to Use the Journal

Writing an entry

1. 1 Open your trip and tap the Journal tab.
2. 2 Tap the Write today's entry card at the top, or tap the pencil icon in the toolbar.
3. 3 Give your entry a title and pick a mood (Excited, Happy, Funny, etc.).
4. 4 Write freely in the body area. Tap a writing prompt chip at the bottom if you need a nudge.
5. 5 Tap Save — the entry is stored tied to that day of your trip.

Reading or editing a past entry

1. 1 Tap any entry card in the Journal tab to open it in full.
2. 2 Tap the pencil icon in the top right to edit the title, body, or mood.
3. 3 To delete, scroll to the bottom of the edit sheet and tap Delete entry.

🔗 Sharing and Deleting Trips

Sharing a trip

1. 1 On the Home screen, swipe left on any trip card.
2. 2 Tap the teal Share button.
3. 3 The iOS share sheet opens with the message: "I planned a trip for us to [destination]! Check it out on the Sojourn app on the App Store."
4. 4 Choose Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or any app to share.

Deleting a trip

1. 1 On the Home screen, swipe left on the trip card you want to remove.
2. 2 Tap the red Delete button.
3. 3 A confirmation dialog appears — tap Delete trip to confirm. This permanently removes the trip and all its plans, spots, and journal entries.
